For Nurses By Nurses Productions takes you behind-the-scenes of its' latest production, The Dixie 3: A Story On Civil Rights in Nursing. Productions started in January of 2019 and is currently wrapping up for a February 2021 Black History Month Release.

Introducing Nursing Cast (l to r) Angela Mitchelle, RN, Melanie Outlaw, RN and TWanda Lowrey, RN.

The film centers around a civil rights case involving three nurses at the old Dixie Hospital in Hampton, Va. It chronicles the history of racism in hospitals and healthcare at that time and gives an in-depth look into the specifics of this case. Producer, Denetra Hampton says she wanted the project to be a conduit for a bigger conversation on structural racism in healthcare and how the civil rights movement helped pave the way for a victory in the rights of these nurses.
